How Educational Robots Transform the Classroom Experience

As of the start of the 2023–2024 school year, 45% of public schools in the United States reported feeling understaffed. Although this is a slight decrease from the year before, the education sector continues struggling to hire educators and school employees. As a result, there is an increasing need for alternative solutions that support teachers and staff.

We’ve got that solution for you!

Addressing School Labor Shortages with Robots

Labor shortages are more than just an inconvenience. Having insufficient or under qualified staff in schools can lead to overworked teachers, limited personal attention to children, reduced educational quality, a backlog of administrative duties, and other operational issues. It’s a serious issue that needs to be addressed to build a stronger educational system for our children.

After careful review, Prospera Health and Hospitality Services has selected a set of robots that can help bridge the labor gap in schools. Our robots can clean, move objects, deliver food and even welcome and greet the students.

Our Successful Pilot Program

This past summer, PHHS collaborated with various private schools across the U.S. to introduce robots in the classroom. After the pilot program, 72% of the schools we worked with said the robot improved the efficiency of everyday operations at their school. The remaining 28% of schools rated efficiency 3 out of 5 stars. Of those who completed the survey, 100% said they liked the AutoXing robot. The schools also gave PHHS 5 stars for the collaboration!

The Enlarged Open Waiter Robot's main duty was to help hand out lunch and was quickly introduced to other tasks like:

  • Greeting students and welcoming visitors
  • Singing birthday songs
  • Distribution and moving of items
  • Attending sports ceremonies

“I love the use of technology at the school and the innovative image it portrays to families. The children really love it and it's great to see them so excited about it.”

Benefits of Robots in Education

Robots can be a great addition to a successful school. Instead of taking over important jobs, the robot supports staff by taking care of tedious, repetitive tasks. This can greatly help with:

  • Improved efficiency: Robots streamline operations, saving time and reducing workload for teachers and staff.
  • Safe practices: Autonomous delivery robots have built-in obstacle avoidance, and our cleaning robots use fewer chemicals than manual cleaning.
  • Enhanced learning environment: Cleaner and more organized classrooms stimulate better learning experiences.
  • Increased student engagement: Our pilot program suggests that the students love the robot and that it has helped with positive reinforcement in the classroom.

“[Robot] manages all our food deliveries for breakfast, lunch and snack. We are a food service state and using the robot has increased our efficiency tremendously. We also use her for distributing supplies, ice packs and warm chocolate chip cookies for Cookie Friday! The possibilities are endless with [Robot]!”
